Grade 2 Class
Welcome to Grade Two!
I hope all of our Mom's had a wonderful day! For your information, the plant your son/daughter gave you is called a 'frizzle pansy'.
Last call for your family tree --a few students have yet to return it. We are studying our cultural heritage in social studies and your child will need this information.
Please continue to practice the basic math facts to twenty with your child. We are currently working with 2-digit subtraction with/without regrouping (i.e. 43-17=) and your child would benefit from additional practice at home.
I am continuing to challenge all students to do their very best (presentation included) otherwise they will be asked to redo. In this third term, I am Mrs. Nosy, Neat Nielsen! At home please use the reading log to stress the importance of neatness and the proper usage of capital letters and punctuation. I am enjoying reading your child's opinions of the books read.
No weekly story this week----instead: Please help your child choose and copy his/her favourite dessert. Return this favourite by this Thursday.
No Home Journal this week. Sorry about last week--a special choir presentation interferred with our regular scheduling.
