Grade 2 Class![]()
Welcome to Grade Two!
Cocoa, our pet rabbit is now eating veggies! If your child would like to periodically bring in a veggie for her (they learned which vegetables are safe) that would be appreciated.
I am challenging all students in this second term to do their very best (presentation included) otherwise they will be asked to redo. In this second term, I am Mrs. Nosy, Neat Nielsen! At home please use the reading log to stress the importance of neatness.
Things to remember for the week Mar.1-5th:
Monday-Fridge fact arriving home and spelling pre-test (y) Unit 7 math test arriving home too! Please sign and return math test by this Wed.-thanks.
Tuesday- Library--trying to meet the challenge that all students return their books. We can now take out two books from the library.
Wednesday- Class marble jar reward: movie and chocolate cupcakes in the afternoon
Co-operative learning with a silver-lining! Movie TBA
Friday- Spelling test * Home journal will be arriving home. Please parents do your homework and write back. Please comment to your child about their work (i.e. writing efforts, printing (correct size and formation) and overall presentation. Remember you are their audience. We will be painting again! Please ensure your child has his/her sloppy shirt. We will be cleaning up our class for the break. All winter wear and water bottles should be arriving home.
Please continue to encourage your child to read nightly and complete his/her reading log. We continue our climb for Read To The Top. I have encouraged the children to try and bring in their reading log at least two times a week. Please encourage your child to complete the opinion part. Let's keep reading!
Please support your child with the basic math facts to eighteen (i.e. 3+6=; 12-5=). One way is to create your own flashcards. We will be creating a class 'math facts to the top' to record our successes.
I wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable spring break. See you again on Monday, March 15th.
Please feel free to visit the classroom anytime.
